To quantify risk you must have: something of value; something that threatens that value; and some vulnerability that makes the threat real

Cyber is here to stay and it is evolving faster than our awareness, knowledge, skills or defences can keep up with.

Scare tactics don't work!

The cyber industry, however, has adopted a similar marketing strategy as the insurance industry – assuming the only way to get people’s attention and encourage them to spend more time and money on cyber products and services is to recount horror stories about catastrophic cyber attacks and failed companies.

Appreciate: to understand and acknowledge

This strategy has worn very thin over the last decade and people have come to realise that, just like car accidents or outbreaks of fire, cyber attacks can be horrendous or nothing more than a mild inconvenience. What is needed is a better "appreciation".
